Real Estate Photography Preparation
Getting your property ready for a photoshoot is key to achieving bright, clean, and inviting images that attract buyers.
1. Declutter & Clean
Remove personal items such as photos, paperwork, and excess décor
Clear kitchen benches and tidy all surfaces
Ensure all rooms are clean, including floors, windows, and mirrors
2. Maximise Light
Open all curtains and blinds to let in natural light
Replace any blown light bulbs
Turn on all interior lights for a warm, welcoming feel
3. Stage the Space
Make beds neatly with fresh linen
Arrange cushions and furniture to look balanced and inviting
Add simple touches like flowers or a bowl of fruit
4. Exterior Preparation
Mow the lawn and tidy the garden
Remove cars from the driveway
Hide bins, hoses, and any clutter
5. Final Touches
Turn off TVs and ceiling fans
Ensure all rooms are accessible
Secure pets or arrange for them to be out of the home
Portrait Photoshoot Preparation
Preparing for your portrait session helps you feel confident and ensures natural, timeless photos.
1. Choose Your Outfit Carefully
Stick to neutral or soft tones
Avoid busy patterns and large logos
Coordinate outfits if multiple people are involved (don’t match exactly, complement instead)
2. Grooming & Styling
Keep hair natural and neat
Go for light, natural makeup (or what you feel most comfortable in)
Avoid last-minute drastic changes (haircuts, tanning, etc.)
3. Arrive Relaxed
Allow extra time so you’re not rushed
Bring anything meaningful you may want included (e.g. props, blankets for kids)
4. Trust the Process
You don’t need to know how to pose — you’ll be guided throughout the session
Focus on enjoying the moment and being yourself
Preparing properly makes a huge difference in the final result. If you have any questions before your session, feel free to reach out — I’m here to help make the experience smooth and enjoyable.
